Email Marketing

I am starting my own (online) boutique. I am targeting (female mostly) teens, colledge students and you s. I will be selling designer clothing, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, American Eagle, Juicy, 7 for All Mankind, Free People and Urban Outfitters, etc. I need some tips for starting out, how to get a market, cheap advertising and, can you be able to buy expensive clothing clothing and still make a profit? ALSO, IS THERE ANTBODY OUT THERE WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN AN ONLINE BOUTIQUE WHICH SELLS THOSE TYPES OF CLOTHING? Thanks so much! If you have anything additional, please email me.

Basically, my company refers to my job as a Webmaster. This job title is outdated in my opinion. I basically was hired to do the following (with the following knowledge):

- Point contact for company web site (updates, changes, additions, new site designs, project manager/lead for all things company web);
- Marketing for e-mail campaigns, web campaigns and webcasts;
- Excellent working knowledge of WC3, CSS, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, PHP;
- Update content via CMS interface (but also manage all templates in this CMS);
- Print advertisement design (posters, postcards, magazine ads, etc. etc.);
- Interactive advertisement design (FLASH, for example);
- Product strategy from a marketing perspective.

It’s a huge mix of web design, web development, advertising, graphic design etc. and I can’t figure out what to call it

This guy that works for me consistently changes the color of the font of statements he wants to emphasize to the color red. This is absolutely driving me nuts. It occurs in every email corrispondence the guy sends out. It could be just one sentence and he will change the color of part of it. It wouldn’t bother me if this was personal email that he was sending to friends or family. But it is business coorispondence the he is sending to customers and internally to other departments and peers in his department.

I think it is unprofessional because it makes the recepient feel like he thinks they are not smart enough to get his point. I’ll mention as well that most of his emails are lengthy… perhaps the reason he feels the need to draw attention to his point by changing the font. Have you ever encountered this? Do you think it is unprofessional? Why?

I am looking to send some business emails to approximately 30 companies that have a email address particularly for business requests.

I have compiled a email with the information I need to give to the company and my message, but when I send it to myself, it goes straight to my junk email. Is there a way to avoid this, as I do not want my target companies missing my message?

I have looked into getting an aweber account but it appears has if that is more set up for autoresponders. I have forms on my website already, and do not want to us third party autoresponders. I will be manualy typeing in email address for certain categories that I will be marketing to (I already know the business that I plan to target, so this is a very targeted mailing). I need to be able to put, lets say, 100 email address into each category with a total of about 25 categorys. I want to be able to send an html pre typed message to each cateogry, which as far as content is already done. Do you have any suggestions what would work best. Thanks ~Dustin
