AugWhy isn’t hand-delivered advertising mail illegal?
It is littering private property.
If the mail is not addressed, and not stamped it is not mail! therefore, what does that make it?

AugWhat do tobacco reps do with your information when they scan your drivers license?
Sometimes I get free stuff (lighters, marketing swag, etc) from tobacco reps when I go to the bars or music festivals… Other than sending you crap in the mail, what do they do with your drivers license info after they scan it?
I’ve been told they give their databases to insurance companies so they can charge you higher rates… is this true?

JulDo I have a legal right to charge junk mail advertisers a fee for the use of my home as an advertising medium?
Every month I receive a very thick, unsolicited, local magazine in my mailbox. It is loaded with advertisements from local businesses. I told the publisher to stop sending the magazine to my address, but to no avail. I, therefore began charging the publisher $500 for each magazine I received plus $100 per month for each invoice not paid. His total charges are now $5000. Do I have a legal right to charge this publisher for the use of my mailbox and home as an advertising medium for his magazine? Do you think I would prevail in a small claim court if I sued for the $5000 I figured he owes?

JulCan a car dealer send out a direct mail piece disguised as a newspaper?
A local Toyota dealer is sending out direct mail advertising disguised as a non-biased newspaper, but without marking anywhere on the mailer that it is an advertisement. It’s misleading to uninformed consumers.

JunCan you advertise your website in the mail?
I own a website that sells things and am wondering if i’m allowed to advertise it in the mail.
Can I just choose multiple random addresses I found on Google Maps and send them ads? Are there any laws against this? It’s a really good way of advertising, I could even include coupons.

AprWhy is it illegal to place advertisements in a mail box?
I am placing advertising post cards in mail boxes and have been notified by the post office that I must stop this or they will fine me. I’d like to know why they can do this. They don’t own the mail box but they have authority over it? I do not understand.
